Day Three

February 21, 2023

seven days dreaming the dark of a new moon

day three february 21, 2023

day three is waiting too long to write the blog and now it is 11:07pm and after hours of flamenco, and computer, the body is done.

it is a cool breezy night.

I wrote a grant application for an audio piece; I put words to what I see coming next in Ireland, as much as I can see, the Amergin inspired song and dance and collaboration.

Sometimes the dark is made of what you did do, what you didn’t do and silence.

Oh, this word Syzygy. What is happening right now. the sun, the moon, the earth lined up, one after the other.

Word

Syzygy

Answer

The nearly straight-line configuration that occurs twice a month, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction (on the same side of Earth at the new Moon) and when they are in opposition (on opposite sides of Earth at the full Moon). In both cases, the gravitational effects of the Sun and the Moon reinforce each other, and tidal range is increased.

What’s wild is to think the Sun is seeing its full light on the side of the moon we cannot see.

I love that the moon is made of two parts right now, one half entirely dark, one half entirely light.

All the worlds I am living in are seeping into each other.

New Moon – the Invisible Phase

By Anne Buckle, Graham Jones, and Vigdis Hocken

The New Moon is when the Sun and Moon are aligned, with the Sun and Earth on opposite sides of the Moon.

At New Moon, the Sun, the Moon, and Earth are in alignment.

PS: There’ll be a lag time of a few hours between your posting and the words appearing in the comments.
