YOUR VOICE AS CATALYST
~ for hidden revolutionaries, healers, coaches, artists, leaders ~
a 6 week journey to create ONE POWERFUL EXPRESSION of CONFIDENCE that frees you to act on what is calling you
create, speak and embody your new creed
a 4-minute ‘Catalyst Expression,’ a poetic monologue spoken through words and movement about what has kept you silent, and what you want to speak
…liberating your voice out into the world and becoming seeds of inspiration for speeches, blogs, books, coaching programs, conversations, and/or whatever is calling to you
…so you feel confident and empowered to be seen and step out as the no-longer hidden revolutionary, coach, healer, writer, leader, dismantler of oppressions that you are
SIX 90 MINUTE SESSIONS online starting Saturday, November 16 and ending on the Winter Solstice - so we speak our CREEDS out into the world as the light returns….
THIS IS AN INVITATION TO
~ Lea, past participant, Zuni pueblo
After I spoke my CATALYST EXPRESSION, I felt like a mule who had traveled from Mexico to Shiwina (Zuni) for the first time. We all have been carrying the burdens of colonization since the 1500's. I also felt like a bird (child of eagle), a flapping of wings trying to take flight on wounded wings. Finally, wings in flight, soaring and continuing the journey to be part of ancestral destiny.
I’m Shebana Coelho, a performance artist, writer/filmmaker and facilitator of workshops. Originally from India, long-time resident of New Mexico, recently returned from adventures in Spain and Ireland. In 2018, I wrote a poem about fear that changed my life, that became a catalyst for rewiring my relationship with fear - it rippled out and changed what I believe was possible for me, it converted my greatest fear (being seen on a stage) to my deepest passion (being seen on a stage!) (more about my journey here)
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WAS THAT IT FREED ME TO PLAY WITH FEAR INSTEAD OF BEING STUCK IN IT
Caroline LeBlanc, Past Participant, Writer, Artist, Psychotherapist, Army Nurse Veteran
YOUR VOICE AS CATALYST was so joyful. Our group made very deep connections. Shebana is engaging and generous …She brings a rich multicultural knowledge and sensitivity that weaves into a magical way of guiding the body, mind and soul of people who work with her. Her patient and sensitive approach midwifes people into to deep levels of themselves and the story they want to tell.
Beatrijs’ Small - Past Participant- “My catalyst expression”
This journey of YOUR VOICE AS CATALYST is about practicing to engage with fear playfully
so you are liberated and empowered
to create the CREED of your next true expression
…Now I feel ready to discover more of the world, I feel lighter about pouring my heart out, all corners of it. Our facilitator, Shebana Coelho is a true magician constantly pulling different facets of her multi dimensionality and joyful self out of her universal hat.
~ Dominique Mazeaud, heartist
You don’t need one dot of performance experience to participate, because the CATALYST EXPRESSION is for your body and spirit to heal, freeing yourself to see and act on what you love.
ELEMENTS OF THE JOURNEY
Over six sessions, I’ll guide our group with writing prompts, visualizations, movements, meditations grounded in energies of nature, and from that vastness, we’ll write about silence and expression in the context of:
HISTORY: what structures did we step into that were already in place? what is hidden in the silence?
IMAGINATION: what are the things that we are imagining to be true that keep us in a box of fears? what does it feel like when we embrace the sounds that want to speak?
We’ll write using the language of the senses - image, smell, taste, sound, touch - so our words enter the body, where it can find its integration and release.
Ellen Máirín Johnston, PLAYWRIGHT, COMPOSER, SINGER
The origin of theater comes from catharsis. What Shebana is creating is its own form of therapeutic art creation, bringing to people who may never be on stage that same catharsis from speaking their truths.
You will leave with
…seeing what your silence is made of and what has kept you from living things that you want to live
…glimpses of actions you want to take, speaking the speech, standing up in the meeting, writing the book, the idea you want to manifest, the love you want to embrace
…resources for engaging playfully with silence and fear
….experiencing a sense of Play that allows for MOVEMENT. That’s what I hope this workshop catalyzes - a sense of urgency to stand up in your true nature….

Writing teacher for over thirty years
Shebana Coelho is one of those people whose natural grace and intelligence can't help but inspire the rest of us to shine brighter. Her natural voice in writing and open heart mixed with imaginative powers make her a fine teacher of writing.
Your Voice as Catalyst series was a profound experience. It was an opportunity to give expression to the thoughts and feelings that have been looping in my mind and nagging at my soul. Shebana worked her shamanic magic to create fertile soil, and to water and nurture the seeds from their imprisonment. I didn’t just enjoy it, I needed it.
~ Robby Parker, former participant, world music vagabond

LYNN & MATHEW MATHER
We were delighted to have Shebana as a guest facilitator on our MA Art, Psyche and Creative Imagination programme at Limerick School of Art and Design. She took our students for the day for creative poetry, embodied movement and more. Shebana has an immediate enchanted presence and the rare talent of organically bringing anyone and groups of people with her into rich layers of sacred play and effortless flow into the various forms of imaginative expressions that she is so experienced and infectiously able to convey.
