The Good Manners of Colonized Subjects - in Spain
This first performance of The Good Manners of Colonized Subjects - in Spain, in Iberia, a place that funded the whole enterprise of colonization, in Cádiz which was the embarkation point for Columbus second voyage - the happenstance of it all is beyond words! A preview of a new incarnations with flamenco singer Coral de los Reyes, part one of an AUDACIOUS DREAM to re-version the play in English and later, tour this new version to English-language, cross-cultural organizations/departments of Spanish universities and also outdoor spaces-under old trees, by rivers to small English speaking groups. In 2023, I want to create a Spanish-language version to present in nature and cultural spaces in Andalusia, especially Sevilla and Cádiz.
WHAT: at a conference at the University of Cádiz: “Exploring India Identities through the colonial relationship,” organized by the Asociación Española de Estudios Interdisciplinarios sobre India (Spanish Association for Interdisciplinary India Studies).
